Palestinian-Swedish Relations
Palestine and Sweden have common bonds of long-standing friendship dating back to 1903 when Sweden opened its Consulate in Jerusalem. Relations have developed over the years and was formally manifested by the Swedish Government’s recognition of the State of Palestine on October 30, 2014. The Embassy of the State of Palestine was formally opened during President Mahmoud Abbas’ official visit to Stockholm on February 10, 2015.
