القسيسة سالي عازر، والقساوسة أشرف طنوس ورودني سعيد
تشرفت السفيرة رولا المحيسن باستقبال القسيسة سالي عازر، والقساوسة أشرف طنوس ورودني سعيد في مقر السفارة في ستوكهولم اليوم الموافق 16 أكتوبر 2024؛ وذلك في إطار زيارتهم إلى السويد، الهادفة إلى نقل واقع المعاناة الفلسطينية، جراء استمرار ارتكاب الإحتلال الإسرائيلي للإبادة الجماعية وعدوانه على الشعب الفلسطيني وتأثر الكنائس وأداء العبادة بالإجراءات التعسفية والعنصرية لقوات الإحتلال الإسرائيلي ومستوطنيه.
وأكدت السفيرة على الإعتزاز بالترسيم التاريخي لأول سيدة فلسطينية كقسيسة في الكنيسة اللوثرية الإنجيلية في القدس والأردن في يناير 2023، الأمر الذي عكس دور النساء الفلسطينيات الرائد في الكنيسة والوطن.
عقدت القسيسة عازر عدة لقاءات في السويد، وشاركت في ندوة في البرلمان السويدي، تحدثت فيها عن دور الكنيسة اللوثرية الإنجيلية وتطورات الوضع الراهن في فلسطين.
Ambassador Rula Almhaissen had the honor of welcoming Reverend Sally Azar, along with Reverends Ashraf Tannous and Rodney Said, at the embassy in Stockholm today, October 16, 2024. Their visit to Sweden aims to highlight the reality of Palestinian suffering due to the ongoing genocide and aggression by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, and the impact of the occupation’s arbitrary and racist measures, as well as those of its settlers, on churches and the practice of worship.
The Ambassador expressed pride in the historic ordination of the first Palestinian woman as a pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jerusalem and Jordan in January 2023, reflecting the pioneering role of Palestinian women in the church and the nation.
Reverend Azar held several meetings in Sweden and participated in a seminar in the Swedish Parliament, where she discussed the role of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the current developments in Palestine.
