وأحاطت السفيرة رولا المحيسن في كلمتها الحضور حول تصعيد قوة الاحتلال لممارساتها وسياساتها المخالفة للقانون الدولي ولاتفاقية جنيف الرابعة والتي تستدعي تحمل المجتمع الدولي لمسؤولياته تجاه الشعب الفلسطيني بإنهاء الاحتلال وتوفير الحماية له وتمكينه من نيل حقوقه وتقرير مصيره؛ وفقاً للقانون الدولي وقرارات الشرعية الدولية ذات العلاقة.

كما أطلعت المشاركين على حالة الطفل الفلسطيني والصعوبات التي يعيشها بسبب ممارسات وسياسات قوة الاحتلال الإسرائيلية والانتهاكات الممنهجة التي تقوم بها سلطات الاحتلال والتي تستهدف بشكل خاص أطفال فلسطين الذين سيمثلون المجتمع الفلسطيني المستقبلي، من خلال القتل والجرح والاعتقال إلى جانب العديد من الممارسات التي تصاعدت في الفترة الأخيرة ولا تحترم أي حقوق للأطفال المكفولة بالقانون الدولي. كما وجهت مجموعة من المطالب للمجتمع الدولي لتوفير الحماية للشعب الفلسطيني ومساءلة ومحاسبة قوة الاحتلال الإسرائيلية وضرورة إنهاء الاحتلال لدولة فلسطين.

On the occasions of the Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, and International Children’s Day, Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Kingdom of Sweden, H.E. Ms. Rula Al Mhaissen , participated on Tuesday the 29th November, in Uppsala, in a panel discussion organized by a number of associations and organizations in solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

In her speech, the Ambassador briefed the audience about the occupation force’s escalation of its practices and policies violating international law and the Fourth Geneva Convention, which requires the international community to assume its responsibilities towards the Palestinian people by ending the occupation, providing them with protection, and enabling them to obtain all their rights, including their right to self-determination, in accordance with international law and relevant international legitimacy resolutions.

Participants were also informed about the plight of Palestinian children and the difficulties they face due to the practices and policies of the Israeli occupying power and their systematic violations. The occupation authorities specifically target Palestinian children who represent the future society of Palestine, by killing, wounding and arresting them, in addition to many other violations that have escalated recently. These practices do not respect any children’s rights, as guaranteed by international law.

The ambassador also directed a number of requests to the international community to help provide protection for the Palestinian people, to hold the Israeli occupying power accountable, and to end the occupation of the State of Palestine.
