تدعم الكنائس السويدية العديد من المؤسسات الفلسطينية والبرامج التي تهدف إلى تعزيز صمود الشعب الفلسطيني على أرضه، يكل مكوناته وخاصةً المسيحيين؛ وذلك بالتنسيق والتعاون مع العديد من الكنائس والمؤسسات الكنسية الفلسطينية. وتتابع معاناتهم وتنقلها للحكومة السويدية وتدعم حالياً جهود تحقيق العدل والسلام، ووقف اطلاق النار في غزة وانهاء الحرب.
تشرفت السفيرة رولا المحيسن بزيارة عضو اللجنة التنفيذية لمنظمة التحرير الفلسطينية، رئيس اللجنة الرئاسية العليا لمتابعة شؤون الكنائس في فلسطين د.رمزي خوري، وعضوي اللجنة السفير د.عمر عوض الله، مساعد وزير الخارجية والمغتربين للشؤون الأوروبية والسفيرة أميرة حنانيا، ممثلة اللجنة في أوروبا؛ وذلك ضمن جولة في الدول الإسكندنافية.
وتشرفنا بلقاء رئيس أساقفة الكنيسة اللوثرية السويدية مارتن موديوس، أعضاء مجلس الكنائس برئاسة د. صوفيا كامنيرين، نيافة مطران ستوكهولم أندرش هولمبيرغ، ممثل حزب الاشتراكي الديمقراطي في البرلمان دانييل فينكو فيلاسكيز كاسترو،، ومديرة حوار الأديان والثقافات في الخارجية السويدية أولريكا سوندبرغ.
The Swedish churches support numerous Palestinian institutions and programs aimed at enhancing the resilience of the Palestinian people on their land, including all its components, especially Christians. This is done in coordination and cooperation with many Palestinian churches and church institutions. They monitor their suffering, relay it to the Swedish government, and currently support efforts to achieve justice and peace, as well as a ceasefire in Gaza and an end to the war.
Ambassador Rula Almhaissen had the honor of hosting H.E. Dr. Ramzi Khoury, member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and President of the Higher Presidential Committee for Church Affairs in Palestine, as well as H.E. Ms Amira Hanania, Director General of the HCC and its representative in Europe, and committee member H.E. Dr. Omar Awadallah, assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates for European Affairs, who are visiting Stockholm as part of a tour in the Scandinavian countries.
They were honored to meet with the Archbishop, H.E. The Most Reverend Dr. Martin Modéus, of the Swedish Lutheran Church, members of the Christian Council of Sweden led by its Secretary General Reverend Dr. Sofia Camnerin, Bishop of Stockholm H.E. Dr. Andreas Holmberg, MP Daniel Vencu Velasquez Castro, representative of the Social Democratic Party in Parliament, and H.E. Ms Ulrika Sundberg, Director of Interfaith and Cultural Dialogue at the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
