قدمت السفيرة رولا المحيسن، بالأمس الموافق 05 نيسان/أبريل 2022 أوراق اعتمادها للملك السويدي كارل السادس عشر غوستاف في القصر الملكي السويدي؛ سفيرةً مفوضةً فوق العادة لدولة فلسطين لدى مملكة السويد؛ وذلك في مراسم احتفالٍ رسميةٍ، وبحضور مسؤولين في وزارة الخارجية السويدية وأعضاء السفارة في ستوكهولم، تضمنت لقاءً جمع السفيرة المحيسن مع جلالة الملك غوستاف.
نقلت خلاله تحيات السيد الرئيس محمود عباس وتقديره وتقدير الشعب الفلسطيني للدعم المتواصل الذي تقدمه مملكة السويد وشعبها الصديق للحقوق المشروعة للشعب الفلسطيني. كما استعرضت الواقع الحياتي للشعب الفلسطيني في ظل انتهاكات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي للقانون الدولي.
وقد أكدت لجلالته على إلتزامها بتطوير وتعزيز التعاون الثنائي الفلسطيني-السويدي وتوطيد روابط الصداقة بين المملكة السويدية ودولة فلسطين.
ومن جهته، أعرب جلالة الملك غوستاف عن دعم السويد للشعب الفلسطيني، متمنياً للسفيرة المحيسن التوفيق في مهامها.
تجدر الإشارة إلى أن مملكة السويد قد اعترفت بدولة فلسطين في 30 تشرين أول/أكتوبر 2014.
وتقدم السويد دعماً تنموياً عبر إستراتيجية للتعاون التنموي مع فلسطين 2020-2024، بما يقارب 1.5 مليار كرونة سويدية (نحو $ 106 مليون)؛ علماً أنها تخصُّ وكالة الأمم المتحدة لغوث وتشغيل اللاجئين الفلسطينيين (الانروا) بالدعم الأكبر.

Ambassador Rula Almhaissen presented her credentials yesterday, April 5, 2022, to Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf at the Swedish Royal Palace accrediting her as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to the Kingdom of Sweden. The official ceremony was attended by officials from the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and members of the embassy in Stockholm, and included a meeting between Ambassador Almhaissen and King Gustaf.

During the meeting, she conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian people for the continuous support provided by the Kingdom of Sweden and its friendly people for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people. She also discussed the living conditions of the Palestinian people in light of the Israeli occupation’s violations of international law.
Ambassador Almhaissen affirmed her commitment to developing and enhancing Palestinian-Swedish bilateral cooperation and strengthening the bonds of friendship between the Kingdom of Sweden and the State of Palestine.
For his part, King Gustaf expressed Sweden’s support for the Palestinian people and wished the Ambassador success in her duties.
It is noteworthy that the Kingdom of Sweden recognized the State of Palestine on October 30, 2014. Sweden provides development support through a cooperation strategy with Palestine for 2020-2024, amounting to approximately 1.5 billion Swedish kronor (around $106 million). It is worth noting that the largest share of this support is allocated to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
