Ambassador Rula Almhaissen had the solemn honor of attending the funeral yesterday of a cherished friend and devoted advocate for Palestine, Mr. Evert Svensson. Mr. Svensson was more than just a loyal ally; he was a steadfast supporter and a true friend, of the Palestinian people, with whom we shared deep bonds of mutual respect, common values, and enduring friendship.
Mr. Svensson’s life was marked by unwavering solidarity with the people of Palestine in their quest for rightful and just rights. His principled stance against injustice was profoundly appreciated, and his friendship was invaluable to all those who have encountered him.
After the funeral, Ambassador Almhaissen expressed her “gratitude to our friends who stand in solidarity with the justice of our Palestinian cause. As we have lost many over the past year and throughout the past 76 years, we understand the meaning of loss and wanted to be present to support his family. This is a message of loyalty to all our friends and supporters who stand with us.”
May his soul rest in eternal peace. His memory will forever remain a beacon of hope and a reminder of the power of solidarity, compassion, and the unwavering pursuit of a just world.
تشرفت السفيرة رولا المحيسن بحضور جنازة صديق عزيز ومناصر مخلص لفلسطين، السيد إيفرت سفينسون، أمس. لم يكن السيد سفينسون مجرد حليف مخلص؛ بل كان مؤيدًا ثابتًا وصديقًا حقيقيًا للشعب الفلسطيني.
بعد الجنازة، أعربت السفيرة المحيسن عن “امتنانها لأصدقائنا الذين يقفون متضامنين مع عدالة قضيتنا الفلسطينية. ولأننا فقدنا العديد من الأشخاص على مدار العام الماضي وعلى مدار السنوات 76 الماضية منذ بدء معاناة شعبنا مع الإحتلال الإسرائيلي، فإننا ندرك معنى الخسارة وأردنا أن نكون حاضرين لدعم أسرته. هذه رسالة ولاء لجميع أصدقائنا ومؤيدينا الذين يقفون معنا”.
لقد تميزت حياة السيد سفينسون بالتضامن الثابت مع شعب فلسطين في سعيه للحصول على حقوقه العادلة والمنصفة. لقد كان موقفه المبدئي ضد الظلم موضع تقدير عميق، وكانت صداقته لا تقدر بثمن بالنسبة لكل من تعامل معه.
رحمه الله وأسكنه فسيح جناته. ستبقى ذكراه رمز للتضامن والسعي الدؤوب لتحقيق عالم عادل.
