تشرفت السفيرة رولا المحيسن بلقاء السيد ستيفان لوفين رئيس معهد ستوكهولم الدولي لأبحاث السلام-سيبري، رئيس الاشتراكية الأوروبية منذ 2022، رئيس الوزراء السابق (2014-2021) ورئيس حزب الديمقراطيين الإشتراكيين السابق (2012-2021).
وتم بحث خطورة الكارثة الإنسانية في غزة مع استمرار الإبادة الجماعية التي ترتكبها قوة الإحتلال الإسرائيلي بحق المدنيين الفلسطينيين وتدمير للبنى التحتية وأهمية دور المجتمع الدولي؛ خاصة الإتحاد الأوروبي والأحزاب الصديقة في تطبيق قوة الإحتلال لقرارات محكمة العدل الدولية، وفي تحقيق الوقف الفوري للعدوان ومحاولات التهجير القسري وإدخال المساعدات الإنسانية.
كما تم بحث مستجدات التصعيد الإسرائيلي لإنتهاكات القانون الدولي في الضفة الغربية بما فيها القدس واعتداءات المستوطنين المسلحين على المدنيين الفلسطينيين وممتلكاتهم. وكذلك أهمية استمرار دعم وكالة غوث وتشغيل اللاجئين-الأونروا والدعم التنموي والتوجه إلى مؤتمر دولي يفضي إلى إنهاء الإحتلال وإعتراف جميع الدول بدولة فلسطين، كما فعلت السويد عام 2014.
Ambassador Rula Almhaissen had the privilege of meeting H.E. Mr. Stefan Löfven, Chair of the Governing Board of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), President of the Party of European Socialists since 2022, former Prime Minister of Sweden (2014-2021) and leader of the Social Democratic Party (2012-2021).
They discussed the gravity of the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, addressing the ongoing Israeli occupation’s genocidal actions against Palestinian civilians, infrastructure destruction, and the crucial role of the international communit, especially the European Union and friendly parties in enforcing the International Court of Justice’s decisions.
The focus was on achieving an immediate halt to aggression, preventing forced displacement, and facilitating humanitarian aid entry.
Additionally, they delved into the recent Israeli escalation of violations of international law in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and armed settler attacks on Palestinian civilians and their properties.
The importance of continued support for UNRWA and developmental assistance was emphasized, along with the pursuit of an international conference leading to an end to the occupation and global recognition of Palestine, mirroring Sweden’s actions in 2014.
