استضافت سفارة دولة فلسطين لدى ستوكهولم اجتماعاً لمجموعة السفراء العرب المعتمدين لدى مملكة السويد، تم فيه بحث آخر المستجدات المتعلقة بالقضية الفلسطينية، والتحديات الإنسانية المتفاقمة في الأرض المحتلة.
عقب الاجتماع، نظمت السفارة ندوة بعنوان: “عامان من المعاناة الإنسانية والاستجابة”، تحدث فيها رئيس جمعية الهلال الأحمر الفلسطيني، الدكتور يونس الخطيب، الذي قدّم عرضاً مفصلاً حول دور الجمعية في تقديم الرعاية الطبية والإنسانية للشعب الفلسطيني داخل فلسطين وفي مخيمات الشتات، مع تسليط الضوء على التحديات الكبيرة التي تواجه عمل الجمعية في ظل العدوان الإسرائيلي المتواصل، خاصة في قطاع غزة والضفة الغربية، خلال عامين من الإبادة الجماعية والانتهاكات الجسيمة للقانون الدولي.
واستعرض الدكتور الخطيب الوضع الإنساني الكارثي الراهن في غزة، مشيراً إلى النقص الحاد في الإمدادات الطبية والإغاثية، وموجهاً نداءً عاجلاً إلى المجتمع الدولي، لاسيما الدول الأطراف في الاتفاقيات الدولية، للوفاء بالتزاماتها القانونية والإنسانية تجاه الشعب الفلسطيني.
شهدت الندوة حضوراً مميزاً من ممثلي السلك الدبلوماسي المعتمد لدى السويد، وأعضاء من البرلمان السويدي، ومسؤولين من وزارة الخارجية السويدية، وممثلين عن منظمات دولية، إلى جانب عدد من الأطباء الفلسطينيين من أبناء الجالية.
وتأتي زيارة وفد جمعية الهلال الأحمر الفلسطيني إلى السويد ضمن جولة في الدول الإسكندنافية، بالتعاون مع اللجنة الدولية للصليب الأحمر، بهدف تعزيز الدعم الإنساني وتسليط الضوء على معاناة الشعب الفلسطيني في ظل استمرار العدوان.
The Embassy of the State of Palestine in Stockholm hosted a meeting of the Group of Arab Ambassadors accredited to the Kingdom of Sweden, during which participants discussed recent developments concerning the Palestinian cause and the escalating humanitarian challenges in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Following the meeting, the Embassy organized a briefing by Dr. Younis Al Khatib, President of the Palestine Red Crescent society الهلال الاحمر الفلسطيني (PRCS), entitled “Two Years of Humanitarian Suffering and Response.” Dr. Al Khatib delivered a comprehensive presentation on the PRCS’s efforts to provide medical and humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people, both within Palestine and in refugee camps abroad. He also outlined the immense challenges confronting the Society’s work amid the ongoing Israeli aggression, particularly in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, during two years of genocide and grave violations of international law.
Dr. Al Khatib reviewed the catastrophic humanitarian situation currently unfolding in Gaza, highlighting the acute shortage of medical and relief supplies. He issued an urgent appeal to the international community, particularly to the States Parties to international conventions, to uphold their legal and humanitarian obligations toward the Palestinian people.
The seminar was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to Sweden, members of the Swedish Parliament, officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, representatives of civil society and international organizations, as well as a number of Palestinian doctors from the community.
The visit of the PRCS delegation to Sweden forms part of a tour of the Scandinavian countries, organized in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross and its local affiliates, with the aim of strengthening humanitarian support and highlighting the suffering of the Palestinian people amid the ongoing aggression.
